We had a long weekend in Palacio Salvio, a wonderfully ornate building that can be seen for miles around. Situated in the centre of the old town, this very comfortable apartment is like a home away from home. Both bedrooms are quaintly decorated and furnished and give a sense of tranquil space. I will rent either this apartment or the Penthouse if I return to Montevideo. Within walking distance (less than 5 minutes) is a fabulous restaurant in the same building as the theatre, this is a must if you are celebrating or just want a very "up market meal"

We rented the apartment in Montevideo in January and February 2008.  It is modern and clean with central access to the center of Montevideo.  There are places to eat, taxis, buses,  museums, and theaters just outside the building.  It is a safe and comfortable place to stay.
