Comfortably furnished apartment located in the most famous building in Montevideo, Palacio Salvo. This building was first constructed in 1928 by Italian architect, Mario Palanti in the original site of the Confiteria ” La Giralda”, where Gerardo Matos Rodriguez wrote his famous Tango “La Cumparsita” in 1917. The tower at the northwest corner of the building dominates the Skyline and serves as a gateway to Avenida 18 de Julio, the city’s Principal Street. To this day Palacio Salvo can be found on most postcards of the city and country, it also remains a national symbol due to being the tallest building in South America for many decades after its construction.
We have available two Condominiums for your enjoyment. They both have been fully upgraded yet conserved original details as much as possible. The penthouse is located in the 18th floor, which has the round tower and the 7 balconies. The Condo is located in one of the corners of the 4rth floor facing Andes and 18 de Julio Ave. Both Penthouse and Condominium have been fully renovated and remodeled from the hardwood floors to the 14 foot ceilings; They have been comfortably furnished in all living areas including the bedrooms with imported items. Each bedroom has a queen size bed with matching custom bed sheets and comforter. Avenida 18 de Julio can be viewed from the numerous windows but the best view is reserved for the master bedroom which also includes a view of Plaza independencia and the old city gates. The old city contains some of the oldest buildings in Montevideo which resemble classic European buildings.
